    OSFI Guideline B-13 has been in force since 2024-01-01 and covers technology and cyber risk. E-21, published 2024-08-22, sits beside it on operational resilience, and its phase-in ended on 2026-09-01. Full adherence is the expectation now, not the roadmap.

  • Legal

    The Law Society of Ontario's technology guideline expects a firm to know where client data rests and who can reach it, and its cloud guidance is blunt about consumer services holding client files. Privilege is an access-control problem before it's a policy one.

  • Healthcare and research

    PHIPA wants an electronic audit log for health records: who opened one, when, what they saw, and whether they changed it. The Discovery District runs on it. The logging has to exist before anyone asks for it, which is the part that gets left to last.
