SMEnode is a Canadian IT and AI consulting practice based in Toronto, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect through smenode.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

In short: the only personal information we collect is what you send us through the contact form, and we use it only to reply to you. We don't sell your data, we don't run advertising trackers, and we don't build profiles on you.

We collect the information you choose to give us when you submit the contact form:

We use your contact details for one purpose: to read your enquiry, reply to you, and follow up about the work you're asking about. That's it. We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

If you complete the readiness assessment on this site, we collect your name and email solely to send you the result and follow up about it. Nothing else, and no mailing list. You're not subscribed to anything by submitting the assessment.

When you submit the contact form, you consent to us using the details you provide to respond to you. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing info@smenode.com, and we'll stop using your information and delete it where we're able to, subject to any records we're required to keep.

We don't share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers. We do rely on two service providers to run the site and deliver your message:

Because Resend and Vercel operate in the United States, the information you send through the contact form is transferred to and processed in the United States. While it's there, it may be accessible to US authorities under US law. Each provider processes the data under its own terms and safeguards. If you'd prefer not to have your information processed outside Canada, email us directly at info@smenode.com instead of using the form.

We keep contact-form messages only as long as we need them to handle your enquiry and any engagement that follows. We review held messages periodically and delete what we no longer need. You can ask us to delete your information sooner by emailing info@smenode.com.

Under PIPEDA you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it's wrong, and to withdraw your consent or ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, email info@smenode.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

We don't run third-party analytics, advertising cookies, or tracking profiles on this site. We don't follow you across the web. The site uses only what's strictly necessary for it to work.

We serve the whole site over HTTPS, enforce a strict Content Security Policy, and limit access to your information on a need-to-know basis. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security.
